I get many clients coming to me after months/years of therapy for the same presenting problem that has not improved. What I have found in my experience is that some people think they are doing evidence-based treatments such as CBT, and it’s not actual CBT. It is not your fault that you thought you were receiving therapy if all you spoke about was how your week had gone. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) – For trauma, PTSD, and emotional distress that won’t go away. CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) is the gold standard for anxiety, depression, and OCD. It helps you challenge negative thoughts and build healthier behaviors that stick. Learn to restructure your thoughts, and include Exposure and Response Prevention, a specific form of CBT for OCD, and Habit Reversal Training for Skin Picking (Excoriation Disorder) and Hair pulling (Trichtotilimania).

DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) – For emotional overwhelm, relationship struggles, and intense feelings. DBT teaches you practical tools to regulate emotions, set boundaries, and improve relationships.
